Why a Frameless Glass Shower Enclosure?

Statistics show that investing in your home with a Frameless Glass shower enclosure can raise your bathroom value by two fold!

Here's why....

Frameless Glass Enclosures are considered a luxury.
When you invest in these types of luxuries, it raises value of your home.
If you were to sell your home, all of your luxuries invested in the property are reconsidered by the seller and re-adjusted.
Hence, Raising the Value for sale.

Sort of in the same retrospect as "why have formica, when you can have GRANITE counter tops" or even " why have a Pinto, when you can have a Bentley"

Sure... Formica works and of course Pintos work.......... But how long and can they bring money in your pocket in the long run.

Another advantage of having a shower enclosure (in general), is to protect the EXTERIOR of your tub or stall. We all know that having a shower curtain never keeps all of the water from coming onto the floor outside the bath. This in effect, can cause water damage to your flooring or worse!

For example, a customer in Summit NJ asked me to come out for an estimate. I measured the opening and created a design for them. As we were discussing the design in their kitchen, I happen to notice some water damage on the sheetrock ceiling.

They never noticed!

In just a few minutes, we discovered a 3 1/2" ridge opening in a small portion of tile in front of the bathtub. My customer used a shower curtain for over 5 years and the previous owner had used one since the home was built.
Long story short, water had been pooling between the walls for many years, costing my customer nearly $13,000 to repair.
This was a huge financial hit, that definitely would have been worse with time.

Why Frameless compared to Framed?

First of all..... Frameless enclosures are not as expensive as people think compared to Framed ones.

Typically, A Frameless enclosure costs about 20%-40% more than traditional Framed enclosures, with installation.

Does that sound like too much?
Think of it this way to bring it into reality............

A Framed Sliding Shower Enclosure measuring 48" X 60" can cost you about $800-$1,000 with glass and professional installation. Then you would have to thoroughly clean it EVERY time you use it, to keep soap scum/ Body Fats/ Mildews and proteins, out of the groves and ridges with paper towels and even a razor blade at times. (using a razor blade and not being handy or a professional is DANGEROUS, or worse leaving it around the bathroom for your daily cleaning regiment can expose your children to it!)

A Frameless Sliding Shower Enclosure measuring 48" X 60" can cost you about $1,200-$1,400 with glass and professional installation. Then you SHOULD maintain it by cleaning it thoroughly with only a paper towel and cleaner once a month. (using Rain-X is recommended).

Secondly.... Framed enclosures are just UGLY!
The more metal there is exposed to water, the more rusting or "oxidation" occurs. Framed Showers have groves and ridges that accumulate water and begin the rusting process. Not, to mention, when we take a shower, soap and body fats (yes body fats) deposit into these groves and ridges. Creating that "blacking" effect that we all know of on older showers.

Perhaps you want to sell your home and have a Framed Shower enclosure already. You would need to hire a professional to come and remove the enclosure to clean it thoroughly.
More money out of your pocket and more maintenance.

What is different from Lucky Mike's compared to others?

Lucky Mike's Shower Doors is a one man operation.
Your Salesman, Designer and Installer IS the owner of the company.
The owner of ANY company has the interest of his/her customers in the highest priority. Calling one phone number and speaking to only one person who can answer ALL of your Sales, Design and installation questions is beneficial.
We've all had construction work done in some way.
Notice how you get an impressive salesman (so good, he can sell a ketchup icepop to an eskimo) that leaves a great impression of the business??
All perfect........ until the installers come walking in.

A problem arises..... Your carpet has been stained from muddy work boots.
The installers ignore telling you and when you confront them......
They apologize, then stay quiet (hoping you won't make a big deal of it), and say call the office.
The secretary answers and addresses the issue with "Well.... the owner is not in right now, can I have him call you back?
After 3 weeks, you call the company and FINALLY get the owner on the phone.
The owner addresses the issue with "I'm going to send someone as soon as we can"..........
1 week later, the SAME installers return (with carpet cleaner), and do their very best to clean up the mess.
But, you thought they were going to send a professional carpet cleaner??

I though so too when it came to my parents hiring a Glass company many years ago to install one in our bathroom. Same exact scenario.

I've worked for MANY glass companies throughout the years and still see the same practice done till this day.

Wouldn't it have been great to talk to one person throughout the whole situation and get, not just apologies, but action?

That's what sets Lucky Mike's Shower Doors apart from the rest.
